Our Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions
Here at Boutique Cottages, we want you and your doggies (if you have them) to have the most wonderful time when you holiday in one of our cottages. We don’t want loads of rules and guidelines to get in the way of you having a fabulous time in our cottages on the gorgeous East Yorkshire coast.

But there are a couple of things we’d just like to mention:

Our cottages
Please enjoy staying in the cottages to the full, but please also do take care of them, as you would always take care of other people’s property.

 

We completely understand that things do get damaged from time to time. If you do accidentally damage anything, please always tell us so we can try to put it right for the next guests who will be staying there.

​

Unlike many other cottages, we don’t ask you for a Damages Deposit. We are happy to absorb the cost of small damages along the way. However if something is damaged in quite a significant way during your stay, we reserve the right to ask you to pay for it either in part or in full, depending on the circumstances.

Payment
The payment terms when you book a holiday in one of our cottages are:

•    Deposit – 25% deposit payable with your booking
•    Balance Payment – payable 6 weeks before your holiday starts

 

If your holiday starts within 6 weeks of you making the booking, then the full amount of the holiday will be payable at the time you make your booking.


Cancellation Policy
As with everything else, we like to keep our Cancellations Policy very straightforward:

 

If we are able to re-sell your holiday – we will refund you all the money you have paid to date.

If we are unable to re-sell your holiday – we will keep your 25% deposit, but refund the balance if you have paid this

 

In the unfortunate event of you having to cancel, we will make every effort to re-sell your holiday for you through extensive marketing. Simply because we really don’t like having to take money from you for a holiday you never had with us.

 

And we’ll always keep you posted of progress as we try to re-sell your holiday so you always know what’s going on.


Changing Holiday Dates
We are more than happy for you to change the dates of your holiday with us, provided it gives us enough time to re-sell your original dates. This means that we need at least 2 months’ notice if you wish to change dates.

Any deposit you have already paid can be moved forward to the new dates. If the new dates are at a time of year when it’s cheaper or more expensive to stay at our cottages, we will adjust the Balance Payment for your holiday by the amount of the difference.
